Part 1-Do you know if you are in No Tests Required Group?

When you need to get a Japanese driving license by converting from an original driving license issued by other countries, you will be required to go though health check-up and “driving test” and you want to know if you are driving though wide and easy path or narrow alley to pass.

There are two application groups depending on what country issued an original driving license. If your original driving license was issued in one of the following countries,

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Norway, Monaco, Portugal, South Korea, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, The Netherlands, The United Kingdom and USA(only state of Maryland & Washington)

Then you feel lucky since you can convert your driving license within a few hours at all three driving license centers in Tokyo with properly prepared ID documents without required to take “driving test”.- To part 2
